i missed to refund hong kong airport express card

Question

I bought AE single journey (220 $HK) but forgot to refund 50 $HK back, so my card was turned to standard octopus card, right? How long have it expired? 180 days- invalid time is for only AE or for all types of card (for standard octopus card in this case)

The travel pass is valid within 180 days. If exceeding 180 days, I heard you can still return it as long as you hold the receipt when is given when buying it. While the standard octopus card has no expiry limit. The only problem is that if not using it for 1000 days, one has to activate it again and then use normally.
