nanning to hanoi

Question

I intend to do this route in this month. May I know whether this international border via train is still in operation?  T8701? And can we purchase directly from the station or how do we purchase it online? And how does it work? will we receive a e-ticket or need the physical tickets for boarding?

This route is still in operation. You can buy it at Nanning station but if possible it would be better to do it a few days in advance. As i know there is no E ticket kind for this trip, thus if you book online from some agents, they would arrange the delivery for you.
