About:How to Travel to China without a Visa

Direct Transit visa, stay in hotel?

I'm travelling with my infant and wife with Sri Lanka passport (Lax -Shanghai- CMB). I believe that we'll qualify for Direct transit policy. But question is, am I able to go out to stay in hotel? Do i need to apply the Temporary Entry permit, well in advance or we can get it at the airport? (Basically we want to take some rest, since travelling with kid)

Sri, if you are sure that you qualify for the direct transit policy, then I can tell you that you are allowed to go out to stay in a hotel. The temporary entry permit is needed to leave the airport and you can apply for it at the airport when passing through the immigration counter.
