About:China Transit Visa

transit at beijing, ok for 72 hours free transit? What documents are required?

Please advise as my passenger is travelling from London Heathrow to Melbourne on 19dec with Air China and returning on 8 Jan . Flight is stopping for 9 hrs. in Beijing on the outbound flight and passenger will be taking accommodation for that. Passenger is holding British Passport. So he will be going out of the airport to the Hotel and return to Airport in 6-7 hrs.

As per the website, he can get 72 hrs. free transit once he lands in Beijing .

Please let me know if this information is correct and what documents will be needed.

Yes, he is qualified for 72 hours free transit. He needs to bring his passport, confirmed onward air ticket from BJ to Melbourne. If he is exempted for entry permit for Australia, then the above-mentioned documents are ok. Upon arrival, he just need to follow the instructions to find the counter where he apply for the free transit.
