what is maximum bottles of alcohol may i carry to china if i put them in my checked luggage?

need them to give to friends

Peter, you can bring 1.5L without paying the duty. It's about two bottles. Actually, there is no exact rule on how many bottles you can take. There is only one general rule. The total quantity shall be limited to self-use and reasonable amount. The customs decide whether they are under reasonable amount.
