About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

I will arrive Shanghai on a cruise on May 1 2016 and fly out on May 4 on Xiamen Air to Sydney.

Do I need a visa?

Yeah, you need one because you enter by cruise, while the 72 hour policy is only applicable for passengers by air. You should apply for an entry permit in advance.
