About:Chinese Embassy in Philippines

marriage certificate, do i need to translate it?

hello,

My husband is a Chinese and we got married here in the Philippines. I already obtained our marriage contract. Do i need to translate our marriage contract to Chinese for future purposes? If yes where can i go?
I am planning to visit him in Shanghai next year.

Ken, next year if you want to visit him and stay in China for a long time, then you need to have your marriage certificate first notarized by the Foreign Affairs Ministry of your country. Then take it to the PRC embassy for authentication. You don't need to translate it into Chinese in your country. It should be done whn you apply for the residence permit after you enter PRC.
