About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

Medical Evacuation

I am a doctor who is bringing a Chinese National from an American Hospital to a China Hospital as an escort. I have no reason to visit a third country, and wish to return back to the US immediately after taking patient to Hospital. Is there an exemption when it comes to medical emergencies?

GS, sorry, I don't think you can make use of the 72 hour free transit. You can apply for a normal visa by using rush service if you are in a hurry or you can contact the PRC Immigration Office at the border port and consult whether you can get a VOA there.
