Train seats and sleepers

Is the hard seat and hard sleeper really hard? :-) Thinking of taking the 24 hr hard sleeper ride to Harbin
What are the seats for the fast type that I usually take? Would that be considered as soft seats?

Just wondering...

the seat class are very different on the overnight type and high speed one. The hard seat means you seat there for the whole trip and for a long distance trip, it is not recommended. Sleeper bed would be better which you can have a rest in the night. You cannot expect the bed offered as a hotel will do. You may check some photos on this website which shows the difference.
