The most and only famous mountain and natural scenic area in that city is Mt. Wudang. But it is far from the city area. If you are going to stay there, you can take a train from Shanghai to Wudangshan Railway Station, then change to local bus 202 or 203 to the scenic area. On the mountain foot and on the mountain (Nanyan area), there are both star-rated hotels and budget hostels available. You can easily find one upon arrival. Jianguo Nanyan Lodge in Nanyan halfway up the mountain is a good chopice. The lodge provides high quality service and clean environment.

If you are going to stay in the city area, it is better to get off at Shi Yan Railway Station. You may stay in the Fontainebleau Hotel at no. 81 on South Renmin Road, Maojian District. It is near the SY Railway Station.
