About:Stone Forest

Kunming to Stone Forest

i. Is it enough to spend half day at the forest (assume 10 am - 2pm)?

ii. Anyone can help, which one is the most effective way to go there and to go back to downtown (time and fare)? By bus and by train.

1. Yes, half day is also enough to tour around this scenic area.
2. You are suggested to take direct long-distance bus at East Bus Station, get off at the scenic area directly. The bus schedules of the round-trip are from 07:00 to 19:00 with the interval of 30 to 40 mins. The ticket fare is CNY 27 per person. It takes around 2 hours on the way.

It will arrive at the entrance of the scenic spot. After getting off, you can directly walk into there. And they are special tourist buses to the attraction at East Bus Station.

I see. Then, the bus will drop the passenger right in front of the entrance or we need to walk to go to the entrance? Is it a special bus or a normal bus that go to Shilin?
