Why was much of Chinese culture untouched by or influenced by other countries?

Lily, I think Chinese rulers, especially those who governed in Qing Dynasty, should be responsible. They isolated the communication between China and other countries. Yes, such a policy hampered economic and social developments. However, it ensured that Chinese cultures were not influenced by other countries.
