About:Huanglong National Scenic Reserve

Huanglong National Reserve

I regreted taking the cable car (10 minutes) up instead of walking up and then taking the cable car down. I missed all the beautiful sceneries shown here.
My group was misled by our China tour leader telling us about health conditions due to high altitude sickness and so on and not risking ourselves by walking up - very discouraging.
Would appreciate if you can brief on the best way to go up and view all the beautiful sceneries as I plan to go again.Thank you.

Honestly, taking the cable car up is a wise choice. The highlight of the scenic area is the colorful lakes on the top, and cable car can lead you there directly. Besides, the perspective from the cable car is also stunning.

However, you do not have to take the cable car down, for walking down the mountain is interesting, which enables you take a further exploration at the spots along the plank road. It is also less physical challenging. Hope it would be helpful.
