About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Can I stay at a hotel outside the airport in Shanghai for a less than a 24 hours layover.

I hold a Philippine passport.

Miton, it's ok. You can apply for a temporary stay permit at the airport. Then you can leave and stay at a hotel outside. The transit visa is not necessary as you can make use of the 24-hour direct transit policy.
