About:Telephone & Cellphone in China

Looking for a contract-free phone

I'm travelling to Beijing in a few weeks. Any suggestions as to where I could get a contract free phone and how much I should expect to pay? Some members of my group may have US phones with roaming instead of phones from China; will I be able to call them?

How long will you stay in China? If not long, you are not suggested to do so. As the fare paid for contract free phone are usually returned by month as phone fare, lasting 12-24, even 36 months.

If you still insist, the fare is about CNY 1,000 to CNY 5,000, based on different types of cellphones. If you want to make international calls, just open the international service; but you may need to pay for it additionally.
