How do you travel from Hong Kong to Zhongshan. Once in Zhong Shan, is their local buses and trains.

You can take direct long-distance bus in Hong Kong and get off ZS. There are several pick-up stations, such as Kwun Tong, Tsuen Wan Station, Prince, Jordan and East Tsim Sha Tsui Station. Different stations have different departure time. You can find the nearer one to your starting place. The ticket fare is 120 HKD per person.
In your arrival city, there are many city buses, but no metro currently.1
