Can I take single trip with the cable car to the Big Buddha (Hong Kong) and still walk up to steps?

Is the round trip worth it or one way is enough? Can I take a bus back?

No, after you take the cable car up, you need walk about 10 - 15 mins to the buddha through the Ngoing Ping Village.

If feeling physically challenged, I suggest you take the round trip cable car, if you want some walk, just take the single trip. After sightseeing, walk to Ngong Ping bus station to take the bus 23 down to Tung Chung in 50min.
