About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Stopping in Dalian before Beijing but not getting off plane. Will it disqualify me from the visa?

I'm going to Thailand from Fukuoka, Japan. I have a 14h layover in Beijing, but my flight details are Fukuoka > Dalian > Beijing > Chiang Mai. In Dalian, I wait on the plane for an hour before going on to Beijing. The second condition confused me, because I'm technically stopping in another city beforehand, but I'm not getting off the plane so it's not a connecting flight.

Are you a Japanese? If so, you needn't apply any type in advance. Japanese people are exempted from the entry permit for 15 days if they come to China for traveling, business or transit purpose.

When your stop in PRC is no longer as a total of 24h, you can use the 24h transit rule and don´t need an entry permit.
