How far can I go? Can I still use CAN travel permit?

I want to get a transit visa flying from Indonesia to U.S. Through CAN with a 65-hour stopover in CAN.

1. On a transit permit can I register at Guangzhou hotel the first night and stay in a hotel in Zhongshan the second night?

2.if my flight goes from CAN through PVG (2hour layover) on a separate ticket but I have both tickets confirmed then to U.S.
