About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

24 hour or 72 hour?

We are flying from LA- PVG- to Bangkok this week and then returning mid November. On our return flights we have a 14 hr layover in Shanghai, and have reserved a room at a hotel real close. We arrive from Bangkok at 10:30pm and depart at 1:30 pm the next day. Do we need a 72 hour non-visa transit or will the 24 hour be enough?

I think you merely need to use the 24-hour visa-free transit but you qualify for both.
