residence permit will expire this coming october 20, 2015.. can have extension?

Hi my residence permit will end this coming October 20, 2015. My employer decided not to renew my working contract here in Dongguan China. They already cancelled my working permit so that I can easily transfer if I found another job.My questions are what will I do if I want to extend my stay here so that I can have enough time to find another job? What will be the requirements in extension and how much will be the cost.

Hi Antonio! Your residence permit is still valid, right? If so, please find a job as soon as possible and get another work permit. Then renew your residence permit at the local exit and entry admistration office. If you worry that you can't get a job soon, you need to cancel your residence permit at there and apply for a one-month L type in the meanwhile. The L type costs CNY 160.
