I am 30 years old, Senior Petroleum Engineer working in a foreign company in China (partnerships with SINOPEC/CNPC/CNOOC). I am holding a Bsc Engineering degree (studied in PRC). I have solid 5 years of experience in estimating Chinese gas reserves/resources and increasing gas production from 5 provinces of PRC. Its my daily job. I have Chinese wife (3 years of marriage). I have bought my own house last year (1200000 RMB cash).Can i apply for R type? Is it equal to Chinese green card?Which competent authorities of PRC shall i ask for qualification approvals?

Hassan, R type is not equal to PRC green card, so I think it's not necessary to change your Z type to a R type. If you have lived in PRC for more than five years, it's likely that you can apply for the green card. However, as you married your wife for only three years, you may not get the green card at present. You can contact the exit and entry administration department for further information.

R visa
