Hi, I plan to go Tai O after visiting the Giant Buddha in HK.

Is there any bus I can take? Should I buy a two way cable or just one way? What can I do at Tai O ?

You can take bus no.21 at Ngong Ping Village, and get to Tai O directly. The duration is about 15 mins. As I know, the bus frequency is 20 to 30 mins.
You are still suggested to buy the round-trip cable car because it brings convenience to take you back to downtown area.
About the sightseeing, you can fully enjoy the local culture and life. At the same time, you can find many delicious local snacks.
