Getting a resident permit after getting married to a Chinese girl

I'm from Pakistan and my Gf is Chinese , we have met many times in Thailand n Singapore and now we are about to get married in couple of Months , i wanna know after i get married to her so i can easily go china ? because she can not adjust in Pakistan and i dnt even have any family there! so me and she we decided to live in china , am i able to do any work there when i get residence permit to live with her ?
how long it takes to get residence permit and how long i can live there ?

Ela, if you get married with your GF, you can apply for Q1 or Q2 type. Q1 allows you to stay more than 180 days while Q2 just enables you to stay as long as 180 days. Unfortunately, you can't work under Q type. If you plan to work, you should apply for a Z type directly. It takes around 4 working days for Chinese embassy to deal with your application. If you got Q1, then you should change it into a resident permit within 30 days after you arrive in PRC. To some extent, your wife's financial situation influence how long you can stay.
