About:China Visa

Will I be rejected for entry?

I am an American citizen. Had a small run-in with local police in Shanghai China a few years ago, but I'm not sure if the police left a record on my file. I went back to the States afterwards (on my own terms) but I am now applying for a new China visa, was wondering if this will affect my approval or re-entry.

It won‘t affect your re-entry. Based on my experience, the police did not leave such record on your file.
