Applying for visa on old Invitation letter

Can I apply for entry permit now on an invitation letter which I got from Ministry of Foreign affairs of China last year but haven't used it yet?

I'm afraid you cannot use this invitation letter. It has been a long time since last year. I think the letter has already expired. You need to get a new invitation letter.
