Do you refer to West Lake Spring Hotel? If so, it actually has more than one branch. Whichever you are staying at, intercity subway is unavailable. You may use intercity high speed train instead. Go from your hotel to Chengzhan Rail Station or the East Rail Station to take a train to Shanghai in 70-90min.
