About:Hong Kong Airport Express Travel Pass

can I buy travel pass and use for MRT or buses near HKIA before using express train to downtown?

Yes, of course. Uses on MTR and AE are actually separate, and you can surely use the pass to take the bus and mtr lines before taking the airport express. But you need to reload it first, for the pass without reloading cannot be used on buses.
