Food and drinks during National Day Holiday

Hi,
It's my first trip to China, and I will be staying over the national day. Have you got tips on getting food and drink supplies during these days? Are restaurants and shops closed for days too?
Thank you!
Andres

Andrea, almost all restaurants and shops are open during National Day Holiday. It's a good opportunity for them to make money. They won't waste this opportunity.

Are you alergic to any specific items, for example, gluten sensitivity? Do you have some special requirements on dishes? not too spicy and salty? If so, you'd better write them down, translate into Chinese and print these sentences out. When you dine at the restaurant, you can let the waiter/waitress know your "taboos". By the way, Chinese cooks prefer to use MSG. If you are alergic to it, please tell the waiter/waitress "No MSG, please".

Thanks Amy! My guide book wrote that everything will be closed, for a week even, so I began thinking about gathering food to survive 😆.

Everything is open including supermarkets, small shops. The place is buzzing. The Chinese love to eat, they are constantly snacking and eating. You will definately not starve.
