About:China Visa Entries / Validity / Duration of Stay

Can my fiance stay with me for the duration of my 2 year contract in Shanghai?

I already have a work and residence visa for Shanghai for a 2 year contract. My fiance needs to come with me. What requirements are there for her to join me for 2 years?

Corne, perhaps she can apply for the S type, but I don't think the embassy will issue her the S1 type because you are not married. It's likely that she can get the S2 type, but with this S2, she can stay in PRC for 180 days at most after each entry. Therefore, I think it's better that she can work there and get a residence permit too or that you marry the girl to enable her to get the S1 type.

Hi Frank, thanks for the reply. It is definitely the plan to find her a job. I am just looking for a visa that allows her for the longest stay possible as the job search can take some time and don't want to be caught out on a 30 day Tourist L type. Will let you know the outcome and maybe some other readers can benefit from the result.
