About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

72-hour Free Transit visa

Hi there,

I'm arriving from Amsterdam to Beijing and have 9,5 hours before my next flight to Phnom Penh. Can I leave the airport to do a layover tour to the Great Wall? Can I arrange the Free transit on arrival?

As you qualify for the 72-hour free transit policy, you can leave the airport to visit the Great Wall. In Beijing, you can arrange the free transit service on arrival.

Thank you very much for your reply. Should I book the tour to the Great Wall in advance or will there be plenty of options to book one at the airport. Most of the ones I find online are private tours, while I'm on my own and would like to be part of a group of people.

You can book a tour in advance or select one at the airport. I personally think it's better to book it online in advance so that you are not in a hurry when arriving at the airport. TravelChinaGuide provides Great Wall Tour to groups. You can see whether you can be a member of them. The service they provide is trustworthy.
