About:China Visa Application in UK

i have a uk passport i plan on going to stay with my friend who lives in beijing for 2 weeks in Feb.

can i book my flights before i apply for my chinese visa??

Ben, as you can provide an invitation letter from your friend, you don't have to book flights before you submit the application. I advise you to apply for the visa first and then book flights after getting it, so that you won't waste your money.
