About:Chinese Temporary Residence Permit

add a baby on my visa

I just come back from HK with my newborn son. He now has a tourist L type for 1 month. I need to add him on my working Z type.
What is the process? Which document I need? And where I should do it?

Thank you

Marie, the baby has got a passport, right? If so you should prepare the baby's passport, birth certificate, your passport and residence permit. Then go to the local exit and entry administration office and change the baby's L type into an S type and apply a residence permit for the baby.

Thank you for your feedback.
First thing to do is to register the baby's passport to the local police who will edit a residence proof.
Then you bring :
- passports (mother and baby),
- residence proves (mother and baby)
- baby's picture with official receipt
- original birth certificate + copy
- alien employment permit
to the administration office (need to book an appointment).
They will keep the passport around 2 to 3 weeks (for french passports)
