About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

TOP urgent

im a usa citizen transiting to shanghai on sept 23rd coming from UAE and leaving 26th to thailand
i asked ETIHAD airline and they said you dont need any request simply upon arraival to shanghai
however stated that airline needs to arrange for the 72 transit visa

please adsvie as im leaving top urgent

Hi Basem, the airline is right, you don't need the entry permit because you are eligible for the 72hr free transit. You just need to inform the airline that you want to use the policy befor you arrive in Shanghai. After your arrival, you should apply for the free transit service at the counter in the airport.
