About:Zhangjiajie Transportation

Base on last year experience...beautiful places in China are hard to reach :)

Anyway, so does Zhangjiajie has airport? If it does which one is closer from Guangzhou or Shanghai? and from the city it self how long does it takes to go the scenic area? Does it required a lot of tracking from one spot to another, should we spend overnight in the area or we can go down and back on the next day? Advance thanks your answer

Yes, it has an airport. Shanghai is closer to the city, and there are a lot of direct flights to ZJJ. The airport is about 20 miles from the scenic area. If taking a taxi, the travel time is about 40 mins, and the fare is about CNY100. Actually, between spots on the scenic area, you do not need to tracking a lot. There are sightseeing bus, cable car and elevators available.

I suggest you live in the Wulingyuan scnice area, and that enables you to discover more spots. If you prefer to live in downtown area, it is ok to return in the next day. The ticket is valid for three days.
