About:How to Travel to China without a Visa

Want to know more clearly about Direct Transit

On our trip from USA to Vietnam, we have 15hr 45min layover in Beijing and we want to book a Beijing Layover Tour. My husband qualifies for the 72-hour free stay policy because he's United States Passport holder. As for me, I'm a permanent resident in USA with my Green Card and still Vietnamese Passport holder. Please, help me know more clearly if I can apply for a temporary stay permit at the immigration inspection counter on arrival to join my husband in the Layover Tour or I need a visa in China?

Hi, both of you only stop over in mainland China for less than 24 hours, right? If so, you don't need the entry permit either. You can leave the airport by applying for a temporary stay permit at te immigration inspection counter.

Temporary stay permit. It's actually just a stamp on your passport, which actually clearly shows when you arrive and when you leave.
