What Visa do I need???

I am currently in China on a work Z type which is due to expire at the start of October. My employment has ended and I need to go back to the UK to apply for a new one. My partner is still here and working and we have a 2 year old daughter together. Which type of entry permit can I apply for and what documentation do I need to support it? My partner and I are not married. Any help would be much appreciated.

Liz, do you plan to work in PRC? If yes, you still need to get the Z type. If you don't intend to work any more, you can apply for the S type. As you are not married with your partner, it's hard to say whether you can get the S1 type. You should prepare your passport, a photocopy of the passport's data page, a duly completed application form attached with your recent photo, the original and photocopy of your daughter's birth certificate, a photocopy of the kid's passport and residence permit as well as your partner's, and an invitation letter from the man.
