Or you can hire a private car directly. As I know, the fare is CNY 150 to 200 for the single trip. It takes around 1 to 1.5 hours on the way.
2. The fare of the cable car is CNY 65 to 80 for the single way.
3. About the return way, you can take the shuttle bus and come back to Tangkou Town. It takes around 20 mins. I remember that the price is CNY 10 per person.

On the other option, to hire private driver, how do I do that? Any driver recommendations? I was offered RMB 300 for private car to Taiping Terminus which I believed it is a tourist slaughter. Please help

Yes, RMB 300 is expensive. Maybe you can ask help from your hotel or other hotels in Tangkou. As I know, most hotels in Tangkou offer bus transfer service.
