About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

I will be arriving in Shanghai on a cruise ship.

It will only be in port for about 12 hours so can I use the 72-hour Visa-free Transit? Or is it only for people arriving by air?

Sally, you are right, the 72-hour free transit is only applicable to people arriviing and leaving by air. However, you still don't need the transit permit. I think you are eligible for the 24-hour free transit.
