Large cash amount into China

Hi, I need to take $10000 or little more to pay cash to different suppliers in China. Advance payment is not possible as I need to see and select items to buy. At the airport, besides filling customs declaration forms and some supporting papers, is there any duty/fees/fines that I will be liable to pay? Don't mind the extra time at airport, but don't want to pay money to take money in. On way out, the usd amount Willie minor. Thanks in advance. PP

No duty is charged for extra money taking in, but do prepare all required documents. In addition, it is more convenient to take along debit card or credit card, or prepare traveler's cheque. Then you don't need to carry so much cash.
