Getting to Hong Kong Giant Buddha without cable car

The cable car is under maintenance. So now how do we get to the Giant buddha?
I will be travelling from Sha tin.

Bus will work. Don't worry! Walk to Sha Tin Central Bus Terminus to take bus no. E42 to Tung Chung Fire Station. After that, walk to Yu Tung Court to take bus no. 23 to Ngong Ping. Then you can easily walk to the Giant Buddha.

Just for the benefit of others reading this. The bus number 23 from tung chung costs HKD 17 on week days and HKD 27 on weekends. Its a 40-45 min ride through a scenic route.
Also Fyi, Citygate outlet mall is also just outside the Tung Chung MTR station.
