I'm also in GZ and you can get almost everywhere in Bus here, but is better to take the Subway to go to those places you mentioned and use Baidu maps if have some problems finding it.

Yuexiu park and Sun Yat Sen Memorial: take Line 2 (blue line) and is a station called exactly by that name "Yuexiu Park". Is near the Sun Yat Sen Memorial Hall station. That zone between line 1 and line 2 intersection surroundings have a lot to see if you are interested in culture and history of GZ. Once you get to Yuexiu park station, I don't remember exactly what exit (A or B) you should take but inside the Subway are always maps of what things are in the outside surroundings.

Ancestral Temple of Chen Family: take line 1 (yellow line) and go to Chen Clan Academy station. Once there, you also should check on maps or Baidu maps app for the best exit to go out. I think is in C Exit.
