About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

is it possible to leave the AirPort Guangzhou for a couple of hours?

I'm dutch. On my way back to Amsterdam from Siem Reap I have a 9 hrs stopover. Do I need besides my passport any other documents? And do I have to register myself at the AirPort? Is it worthwhile to leave the AirPort if you only have 9 hrs between the flights?

Anna, is it a connecting air ticket? If so, your passport is needed. You are eligible for 72 hours free transit. You just need to apply for the free transit when you arrive. Then you get a stamp on your passport. With this stamp, you can exit the airport.

I think you might take this chance to have a very short trip if you haven't been to Guangzhou before. But you really need to calculate your time.
