i am ecstatic to visit the great wall this month.

Question

I will be traveling alone. So, I have many questions. I have read over some of the question and answer commentary that has previously taken place, but I still have a few questions.First, Is there a bus that goes from the wall back to Huairou North Street? (My hotel will be in the Huairou district)Also, Do I need to purchase a tour if I am traveling alone?  I honestly would prefer to take in the experience alone.

Yes, there are buses back from the wall to Huairou North Street. They are H23, H24, H35 and H36. However, you need to wait for long time to catch the bus. There should be some mini-vans or taxis that wait to carry tourists back to Huairou or Beijing. I think you might share a mini-van or taxi with other tourists to get back to Huairou North Street. Don't worry. You can finish the trip alone. I went there before and saw many foreigners who traveled their alone.
