About:Chinese Embassy in U.S.A.

Malaysia citizens transit at Shanghai

I'm a Malaysia citizen holding a Malaysia passport, I will be transiting in shanghai Pudong airport from Japan, back to Malaysia. I have 9hrs of transit period and I would like to pay a short visit in Shanghai. Besides, visa ( quite expensive), what can I apply

Hi Patrick, the entry permit is actually not needed as you can make use of the 24-hour free transit policy. You should apply for a temporary stay permit at the airport to go outside and pay a short visit.
