which grassland in october

Hello,I am planning to visit Hohhot in 1 week of October. Is it still worth visiting grasslands at this time? Which one should be preferred and what is most convenient way to travel? Vinuta

Well, at that time, I’m afraid there is no much grass. It already turns cold in that area. The best time to visit the grassland is in June, July and August. If you still want to visit, I suggest you go to the Zhaohe, a part of Xilamuren grassland. From Huhhot Long-distance Bus Station, there are direct buses going to Zhaohe. The bus fare is CNY21, and the bus schedule is dense.

Hi Coco, I don't know why Sally recommended Zhaohe Grass, which is actually is only 12km from Xilamuren Grassland. The latter one is actually more worth. Although yurts are available there, it is cold in Oct. and there is no much to see during that period. Anyway, if you don't mind, go to Xilamuren. And if it is flexible, enjoy that in next July - August.

There is no real yurts in Inner Mongolia anymore because of cultural shifts away from nomadic life.
