US Citizens Visa requirement to Hainan Province

What, if any, are the requirements for us citizens visiting Haikou for one week holiday? Where can I get an entry permit while in the USA, if one is required?

Ken, you need the entry permit for visiting Hainan. You just need to apply for a normal L type from the consulate or embassy according to your residence district. The L type not only applies to Hainan, but also can be used in other parts of China.

You should apply from the consulate in San Francisco.
