24 hour TWOV Question

Hi,

I have recently looked into changing our flights (1x British Citizen, 1x Estonian Citizen) as it appears we will not be able to qualify for the 72hr TWOV. However, we are now planning to fly 'Hiroshima - Dalian (a 1hr transit stop) - Beijing - London'. The total scheduled time in China is from 15:25 on the Wednesday (landing at Dalian) - 12:30 on the Thursday (departing Beijing); about 21hrs in total. I believe we will now qualify for the 24hr TWOV - please could somebody confirm this to be true? Furthermore, will we be able to leave the airport and spend the evening in a hotel, or will we have to sleep in the Beijing Terminal? Thanks all!

Matt, you qualify for the 24hr TWOV. You can leave the airport and sleep in a hotel. Just need to get a temporary stay permit at the airport.
