Shangri-la or Li-jiang is better?

I am thinking of going to Yunnan and I don't know if it is well worth to visit Shangri-la or not since it's hard to find a good accommodation and I have found either a few top end hotels and no mid-range hotels. Opposite to Shangri-la, Li-Jiang has better choice for accommodation and surroundings , there are more things to see.

Thank you

Yes, you are right about that. If you need to choose one of them, I suggest you visit Lijiang. There you can have easy access to restaurants and accommodations in different standards. Besides, like you said, in Lijiang, you get more things to see, such as the old town, tiger leaping gorge, Baisha village. All in all, Lijiang is really worthy your visit.

I personally prefer shangri-la, which is less reached by tourists and the natural scenry are preserved well and original. But the tourism facilities there are not good, as well as public transportation. If going there, one will cost more to hire private cars.
