Visa application - can it all be done by post?

Hi,
I am visiting China in October. If I submit my application documents completely via post, will I receive everything I need in the post also? The opening hours of the Centre are very limited and I won't be able to visit easily in person as I don't work in London. Can I send a family member to pick up documents when they are ready? What would I need to do to authorise this?
Thank you!

Natalie, you can post your materials to the center to apply. However, it takes longer time, about 10 working days. Yes, you can entrust your family member, friends or even an agency to submit our application and pick it up when it is done. I personally think you might send your family member to submit and pick up your application on your behalf. It takes shorter time, around four working days. Besides, you needn't write anything to authorize your family to do it.
